Hi! My name is Angela and I'm a stay at home mom, wife, writer, event planner, maid and every other role that life brings.Join me as I rant and rave about the things that life brings to my doorstep
Yesterday I found that I had some free time on my hands so I headed out to Trinoma to do a bit of Christmas shopping. I was able to get a couple of toys, some baby gifts as well as a couple of gifts for Nona... No, I'm not posting what they are here as Nona knows I have a blog. I just know she's gonna love my special gift for her though
(Heck, I'm gonna kill her if she doesn't as the damn thing's a bit expensive!)
I did learn a couple of things though:
1. NEVER go window shopping at such a huge mall like Trinoma in 2 inch wedges. (I underestimated the mall's size and my walking capacity)
2. Divisoria pa rin is the best. I saw some stuff at the mall that were selling for more than twice the amount they were being sold at Divi. Will probably head over there Friday if not tomorrow.
Derrick and I just met up for dinner at Conti's. I will have to say that we were rather disappointed with the food. While we do love their baked NZ mussels and salmon, Derrick (who considers himself to be an "expert" in longganisa and sausages) wasn't that happy with the garlic longganisa he ordered.
I on the other hand ordered their lengua estofado and found the meat a bit tough. Lengua (ox tongue) is always best when boiled til really tender (melt in your mouth tender) as it is only then that the meat's flavor can really be appreciated. I also found the sauce to be a bit heavy and "distracting" so I ended up scraping most of it off. For its price (P245) I wasn't very happy.
Mang Jimmy's sells sizzling lengua for only a hundred pesos and you can bet the meat's really tender. Dessert was okay though. We got slices of strawberry shortcake and choco overload.
Might go out later this afternoon. I'm hoping to fit in an OB visit (a doc friend of mine advised me to go to discount the possibility of PCOS) as well as a trip to an endocrinologist (I suffer from hypothyroid). After that,
I'm thinking of dropping by HMR (they've got lots of nice, cheap stuff there. Hubby was able to buy a 29-inch true flat screen TV for just 5K as well a mini-component for mommy for just P3,000)
Last time we were there he was able to reserve one of those portable DVD players with LCD screen that were being sold for just P3,500. Unfortunately he wasn't able to come back for it sooner and so it was sold to someone else. (And no, he hasn't stopped kicking himself over it.)
Hopefully tonight we could fit in either a tennis game or maybe a couple of hours at the Ace Water Spa. I'd love to get in a few laps at the lapping pool and perhaps a round of the different water jet massages at the massage pool.
They've also got these hot herbal baths where you can just soak your tired bones. Afterwards, you can either stand below a bucket and be drenched with ice cold water or take a dip in the cold pool. The hot and cold baths really do wonders for the skin. To be able to do this would be a real treat (Ahem, Derrick dear, pay very close attention...)
The lapping pool alone costs P200/3 hours. Access to all the pools and jet massages cost P500/4 hours. It may sound a bit expensive at first but really, the niceness of it is, well, it's just really nice (besides, it's not like I go everyday or every week). Fine, you may look like a shrivelled prune or even a raisin after 4 hours of splashing around and soaking in water but hey, that's what lotions are for.
Hay, we'll see.
