Hi! My name is Angela and I'm a stay at home mom, wife, writer, event planner, maid and every other role that life brings.Join me as I rant and rave about the things that life brings to my doorstep
I am BUSHED!
Its about 3am right now and I just finished a general cleaning of the house (I woke up at 1pm and started cleaning round 3pm). Scrubbing, mopping, waxing, etc...quite an a-okay work out don't you think?
Save for a couple more gifts I need to pick up this week, my Christmas shopping is done. The rpesents are all wrapped and sitting at my drafting table (I dare not put them under the tree lest Soda gets a go at them). Bought Christmas envelopes for my inaanak too. Im planning on just giving 'em all cash seeing as they're all pretty grown by now so i think they'll appreciate the moolah more. So far most of the major things for Christmas are done.
Anyway, i haven't been able to post in the last 3-4 days so allow me to give you a summary of what went down during those days:
THURSDAY:Wrapped up work. Got rid of every single assignment on my plate so I'll be relatively free for the next two weeks. There have been a few requests here and there but I've managed to keep my commitments at work to a minimum. True, the pay come mid-January won't be as much as I usually make, but hey, two weeks with minimal stress this holiday season are, I whole-heartedly believe, worth it.
FRIDAY: Derrick and I took MIL to the ER coz we just found out she'd already been ill for four days but refused to let us know. Hubby had to leave us there as he had a commitment at work so MIL and I spent around 6 hours at the PHC ER (sloooooow ER.) Turns out she had a slight case of pneumonia. it was a good thing that we were able to take her while the pneumonia affected a relatively small area of her lung. I was able to take her home that morning and get her settled in. Now she's being monitored with meds and rest. Know what the cheeky MIL said? "Kulang lang daw siya sa pasyal kaya siya nagkakasakit." Derrick promised to take her to the Mall of Asia and Star City once she gets well. So far the incentive has been working pretty well seeing as her recovery seems well on the way when we checked with her yesterday. She's still due for a check-up come Monday though.
SATURDAY: We had a Christmas party with my mom's relatives at Alabang. The traffic was truly HORRIBLE! Imagine, from Manila Memorial in Sucat (we visited my lola who dies last year) to South Bay in Alabang, it took us 2 1/2 freaking hours! The trip under normal conditions usually takes just 10-15 minutes! There was especially heavy traffic at the Alabang-Zapote road (I think it was alabang-zapote) especially with the heavy volume of vehicles exiting Alabang Town Center. Upon reaching the party venue, all the passengers at the 3-car convoy of which we were part immediately headed for two things: the restroom and the buffet
Despite the stress brought by the absurdly monstrous traffic, the night went pretty okay though. We had lotsa good food, chika, played games, and exchanged gifts.
I haven't received my remittance yet *gloom* as the agency in charge of it is a, as expected, swamped with all the remittance verification they need to do especially with so many people sending money to the Philippines at the moment. i just hope that they'll be able to clear it this week. i received notice of the transaction from my agency's end Friday last week. Everything is just tied up with Xoom.
I'm back on meds so I'm hoping that will help me lose a little weight. I honestly haven't been eating much these past days usually just getting to fit in one meal a day and without much snacking coz my schedule and workload has just been so crazy. I admit the exercise thing is a bit lacking though so I'm hoping to be able to remedy that within the next few weeks.
Yes, I know noche buena is coming soon so I'm hoping to convince Papa that a turkey dinner would be beneficial health and weight-wise for all (less calories too!).
